Anders Georg Nyquist, architect SAR/MSA.
Born 1938 in Sundsvall, Sweden.
I am currently living in Njurunda in the northern part of Sweden close to the Arctic Circle. I have been working as an architect since 1962, as designer, planner, contractor, teacher and school-master. I have even been managing director for a local architectural office with 90 employees. Since 1991, I have had my own architectural office together with my wife Ingrid and in collaboration with our daughter Karin.
Our office is involved in physical planning, design, system design, project management, research, development work, teaching and instruction. We are allways working in a holistic way. We want to follow the projects from the first ideas to maintenance phase. Our projects are based upon system design – EcoCycleDesign.
Our specialities are:
- healthy buildings,
- resource economizing in buildings,
- sustainable, green buildings and
- green planning.
I am concerned about the environment. To be a reliable “green” architect you shall live as you teach. We live in an eco-village and in an eco-cycle-adapted home. We work in an eco-cycle-adapted office/studio. We drive a car fueled by ethanol. We grow organic food. We fish. We buy from the local market. In the summers we are sailing.
I am convinced and I have shown that it is possible to build green buildings based upon system design - EcoCycleDesign. We architects can play a vital role in creating a sustainable future for mankind and our fellow passengers on the globe.
If we only teach our children what we know, they can only do as badly as we have done.
